The “Paulée” of the Côte Chalonnaise

An unmissable regional event, the “Paulée” is an introduction to Burgundy traditions that lets you discover the region’s rich heritage and natural wealth.

A traditional festival celebrating the end of the grape harvest, lasting from 14 to 16 October 2022

The origin of the word Paulée comes from the local word for "pelle" ("shovel"). It signified the last shovelful of grapes poured into the winepress, symbolising the end of the harvest. The crops are gathered in, and it’s time to celebrate.

The winemakers of the Côte Chalonnaise celebrate the end of the grape harvests:

A festive, communal atmosphere

Tastings and entertainment

Exhibitions and decoration of streets and fountains, parade of the Brotherhoods

A full programme for a tailor-made stay that we can organise for you
