Guedelon medieval project

In the heart of the Puisaye, about fifty workers have taken up an extraordinary challenge: to build a fortified château in the 20th and 21st centuries in accordance with the techniques of the 13th century. This incredible project takes the visitor back into the past and shows the craftsmen at work: quarry workers, stone cutters, masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, carters, tile makers, weavers, rope makers, loggers ... They work on the site and share their astonishing adventure with you. You have to visit Guédelon again and again: the construction work, started in 1997, is planned to last 25 years and changes from one year to the next ... each visit is an opportunity for new discoveries.
